Question

Changing the duration of a frame hold segment with the "Clip Speed/Duration" also changes the frame

(Premiere Pro 14.0.0 (Build 572))

Steps to reproduce the problem:

With a clip in the timeline, insert a frame hold (Clip > Video Options > Insert Frame Hold Segment).

Select the inserted frame hold segment

Go to Clip > Speed/Duration

Change the duration (for instance to half the original)

The frame on the frame hold segment will change to a different one

If I use the Ripple Edit Tool to make the exact same change the frame won't change, as expected.

Am I missing something?

Its not a bug its the way its the way slowed down footage works.

This is obvioulsy not the programmers' intent. There is no use for the "functionality" of changing the frame based on Speed & Duration options. This is a bug.

I prefer to use a frame grab and adjust its duration rather than frame hold.

If you use Speed/Duration you are changing both values. Speed has slowed down hence the inpoint of the hold frame.

As with the Rippel tool you are only changing the duration. The Clip stays at 100% speed and the same frame.

So if you want to change the duration of the hold frame use the Ripple tool.
