Question

Choppy slow motion AFTER render through media encoder

SOLVED: I accidentally set the sequence settings to 24 fps instead of 30. Easy fix.

Ive had issues with one prticular project that I started right after the most recent update. Before this update there were no issues when doing the same shots with the same equiptment on the same computers.

When I render out my project using media encoder my drone slow motion shots are choppy. When I play them back at regular speed before editing they play just fine. After I render my project they play choppy. They are shot at 60 FPS and slowed to 30 FPS (30 FPS timeline).

Are there some settings I need to adjust?

Update:

After reviewing the whole video is choppy and stutering. It just happens to be the big landscape shots that are the most noticable. Its dizzying to watch. When watching the raw clips prior to being imported to the project they play smoothly.

Also its any of my 60 FPS shots from three different cameras. So the issue has to be premier or media encoder right?

There may be a bug here. I have not been able to reproduce it, however, I have seen several other cases. I'll keep digging into the issue. Very sorry about this. If you can, a screen recording would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kevin

Again all the clips in the project that were rendered out in slow mode have this choppy effect when I'm panning left-right, right-left

Well there's the issue...both the sequence and the export are set at 23.976, make them 29.97

Phillip,

Is this HEVC footage, say, from an iPhone or Drone?

Thanks,
Kevin

Assuming you mean 59.94 clips in 29.97 sequence? How are you slowing the clips? Could either import 60p clip into 30p timeline and apply 50% speed, or import clip and in Project Bin, choose Modify > Interpret and manually set frames to 29.97

If Sequence is 29.97 and export is 29.97, should be very smooth unless Premiere is broken

Maybe share screen shot of Export Settings please for us to look over?

Thanks

Yes 59.94 and 29.97 timeline. I'm using time remappng or just slowing the clip speed down to 50%. Either way I'm using the same methods I've been using before prior to the update.
