Question

Classic download in Windows 7?

Ok. So I do have a question as well as some frustrations.

I have recently began writing scripts and came across this gem of a program. Adobe story CLASSIC has been a great tool for me to learn formatting as well as having a great UI that's very simplistic and organized. I personally have not had any issues with freezing or inability to sync or anything like that. The ability to export as PDF is great. But the best part is the ability to work offline, which can only be done with the desktop application. Unfortunately, when I try to download the desktop app on my windows 7 home computer, it initializes the download, then the dialogue just closes out. The question is IS THE PRODUCT WINDOWS 7 COMPATIBLE?

Now as for the feedback. It seems that Adobe Story is a great program, but there's not enough technical support nor is there enough emphasis on improving the product for people either on the go or who like a little bit more privacy so have an issue with writing whole scripts online. Tutorial videos by the company are pretty much non existent.  I honestly don't see what was wrong with having a desktop application. The classic was much better than this new version both in accessibility and in UI. Why fix something that didn't seem to be broken? BTW, the online version is formatting the font to a size 13. Industry standard is 12 unless that changed recently.

As much as I love technology, this movement towards solely online work is crap. Almost as crappy as subscriptions being the only way to buy software. It's more limiting than companies want to accept. I mean, from what I've heard, Google offers a free template for writing scripts. So why would someone pay for Adobe Story if they were searching specifically for screenwriting software? It seems it would be a much better business move to have the downloadable updated version. I really do enjoy adobe products. This one is no exception. However, the desktop application needs to be a current updated product like most of your other products. I don't get why  Adobe is cutting that from the system. I write this mostly as a concerned and conflicted customer. I want to know that the program that I'm investing my time in will be worth it in the long run and if it's solely online, it's probably not.

Hey juliusk,

Sorry for your issues!

Check if this troubleshooting doc helps: Troubleshoot Adobe Story AIR app issues

The question is IS THE PRODUCT WINDOWS 7 COMPATIBLE?

Yes!

Now as for the feedback...

Thanks for the feedback! I, being a community member, agree with you and echo your thoughts. However, this feedback is more for the Product Management and I'll share it with them. They do visit this forum from time to time.

Thanks,

Rameez

Hi......could I ask those of you who contributed to this thread to consider adding a comment in support of keeping Adobe Story going on the following thread? The hope would be that if enough people contributed Adobe may listen. If you know of others who use Adobe Story perhaps you could pass the link on and invite them to make a comment. We are also hoping that Story could be developed further to the same standard as Adobe Story Classic.

Story Discontinued...

Thanks

Bill

Thanks a lot. When did you download it onto your system?

Win7 system: I've had it on there since it came out originally, and updated it to the most recent (not VERY) version of the desktop CC 2015.

Win10 system: really just stopped working about a month or so ago, if that.  Installed it a year ago.  Have since uninstalled and reinstalled.
