Question

Click and drag to apply effect preset?

I have a project that requires a 113% scale on almost everything I drop into the timeline. I figured I would create an effect preset that I could quickly apply to my clips.

However much to my chagrin I discovered that there is no way to quickly apply a preset other than to navigate to the presets, and then click and drag onto the clip?!

I can't even double-click the preset to apply it to the selected clip; it brings up some useless preset properties menu instead.

Seriously, in a professional editing program, it blows my mind that the only way to perform this action is to click and drag with the mouse across the screen, and there is no way to customize a keyboard shortcut.

It's arguably faster for me to just type in 113 in the scale box, which is still monstrously laborious for the hundreds of clips I will be using.

Google searches show this has been a feature request since 2012!

Can someone confirm this still hasn't been implemented?

Try copying and pasting attributes from one that is already scaled up to all of the others (by selecting all of the others). Choose only the scale option.

It's the same amount of work if not more to find a clip with the attribute, copy the motion section, then paste.

I'd rather just have a keyboard shortcut.

The key-board shorts list is already rather long.

It should be. Everything should be customizable to a keyboard shortcut if the user wishes. Video editing is a repetitive process. This isn't iMovie. There's no excuse for requiring drag and drop.

    Agreed.
