Closed Captioning - .smi/.sami files

Good Day All,

Looking to see if anyone has had to output a Closed Caption file in the .smi or .sami file format. Our Video Archive vendor requires .smi or .sami Closed Caption files but doesn't over a converter. Adobe Premiere doesn't directly output either file format by default. Is there a format/preset/export setting I'm missing? Is there a converter that exists?

Did you ever find out? I'm having the same problem.

I've never done it, but the free Subtitle Edit will do a "save as" to 4 different SAMI variations. Let us know what you do.

Good Morning Stan,

Thank you for the suggestion! Do you have a link to the download site? My Googling brings up some possibly 'fishy' sites that I'm hesitant to browse on a work machine.
