Codec Packs for PremierPro & AME

I have been looking for extra codecs for production suite. I looked at the x264 codec but it is definately over priced at 300. USD. What i need is a pack of codecs but i can not seem to find one. I need the UT codec and x264 and someother codecs included even if i do not know when i will use them.

The second problem is i do not know how to install them. I use to just drag the codec into my QT plug folder and that would be it but i dont have the experience to know how this would work in a adobe. I am sure it is simple.

I am trying to let go of FinalCut Studio all together as they are rarely used by me now.

Thanks for any of your help.

I would try here, if you are looking for ProRes codecs:

He links to the following codec pack for Macs:

Don't install any codec packs.  Just don't.

The UT codec can be installed like any other program by grabbing the .exe file from here:  http://umezawa.dyndns.info/archive/utvideo/

If you're not certain that a particular codec will play nice with Premiere Pro, stop by here and ask before installing

Ut and Avid DNxHD (both mac) have installation

.exe files... no drag-n-drop anywhere...

Just run the installer, follow instructions and that's it.

note:

I'm not a mac user, but on Win you should install

both the 32bit and 64bit Ut codecs to allow your

32bit media file players to access the codec.

Generally, you should avoid 'codec packs' entirely.

All of these free codecs have installation programs:
