Collect Files creates multiple folders for every clip
TL/DR: When collecting video sources that were originally all in one folder for archiving, I want every video clip to END UP in one folder after collecting, not in ...collect/collect/thefile.mts (which is what happens now).
When I invoke File-> Project Manager and select 'Collect Files and Copy to New Location', the end result in the new location takes every clip (that was in one folder in the original project) and places them in 2x recursed sub folders. So, in the original project (let's call it MyEdit), 110.mts, 111.mts, 112.mts etc. were all in one folder. When I collect to another drive for archiving, all files are moved to ...Copied_MyEdit/110.MTSBDMV/STREAM/110.mts <----- the first file. Then, ...Copied_MyEdit/111.MTSBDMV/STREAM/111.mts for the second file. Then ...Copied_MyEdit/112.MTSBDMV/STREAM/112.mts for the third file, etc.
The reason this is a huge PITA for me is that I often have to find individual files from previous edits to re-use. To find the file in the collected archive, I have to go to ...Copied_MyEdit/110.MTSBDMV/STREAM/<the first file, which might be wrong>, back up two folders then look at ...Copied_MyEdit/111.MTSBDMV/STREAM/<the next file which might also be wrong> etc.
So to find one clip (whether using windows explorer, bridge, whatever) I have to be freaking clicking a billion times. I want all collected video files to end up in one folder, like they were in the original project file. I've gone through prefs, might be missing something but can't find how to make this happen. Latest PPro CC.
Thanks.
