Colour tab crashing Premiere Pro

Hi all, I have just updated to version 12.1 build 186 and my machine keeps crashing everytime I try to open the colour tab. Tried all the other tabs and they work fine, also tried to save a new layout. I did get a pop up about a new default workspace being created.

I really must learn not to trust these updates as there is always a problem, we pay a premium here in the UK and do expect it to be right before release. I love Adobe products but this is really annoying when you are in the middle of projects. Dont update in the middle of a project I hear you say, it's not often I'm not in the middle of a project.

Thanks for the reply, work from home and only have one system unfortunately. On a more positive note, holding down alt while starting premiere pro seems to have done the trick. Now to rebuild all my preferences.

I'm having the same problem and its DECEMBER! This has been going on for 8 months! I've had to bring back 5 auto-save projects in the past 3 hours. The clips are rendered, so why does it keep crashing?! Once I re-open it, the colour tab is available for work, then I go back to editing for a bit and when I head back to colour, CRASH!

That's gotta be a pain. Unfortunately, the fix that worked for most other users isn't working for you. A couple of the engineers have been on other threads, and from comments, I'm hoping we're getting another bug patch release sometime ... "Soon". However, no one will tell us how "soon" is "soon" ... until the release drops.

Out of curiosity, what's your OS/CPU/RAM/GPU, what type of media? Just because having data like that gives a better picture of what's going on.

The pattern for most of the Adobe apps is to work on a bunch of bugs and then release a new patch version 2-3 times a full cycle.

So according to past behavior that would be sometime over the next month. Or two.

Some users want fixes released for bugs as soon as any is thought fixed, others do not want constant update patches.

But if you have an irritating bug, well ... now is always a very good time.

You can of course go to the UserVoice feedback page and request faster releases on bug fixes.

I'm having the same problem and have tried holding down ALT at the start.  This seems to work until I setup my scopes and then the same crash occurs whenever i click back on the colour tab.  We pay a lot of money to Adobe for a creative cloud membership and this new version of Premiere is unworkable.  I have to roll it back.  ADOBE - WTF!  This is unacceptable.  Please fix immediately.

Yep , same here . We are left with a nice new update that has crashed constantly everytime I switch to the color panel.

What is it with Adobe, they have the monopoly now, is that it. No real rivals , so fk what the customers say.

This was inevitable.

We get two activations with the subscription.  Always test new versions on a second machine first.

I saw the same warning, but the Color workspace proceeded to open normally for me on Windows 10 Pro (1709).
