Computer Freezes at Same Point when Exporting

I've tried various things, but whenever I try exporting my 11 minute video, the entire computer freezes at the same exact point.  This happens consistently whether I export directly through PP or use Media Encoder.

I tried looking at the frame where it stops, and the only thing that was going on was two still images with some slight motion animation and a cross-dissolve between them.  I had the same thing on other pictures/video clips and it got through those (and more) fine.  I tried removing the cross dissolve since it freezes toward the end of it, but that didn't resolve it.

I tried rendering sequence before exporting using the Render In and Out option. The entire sequence has the green bar -- no yellows or reds -- and playback is fine throughout.  However, this didn't make a difference for export: same computer freeze at the same point.

The exported file size is about 2GB for full HD (I use 29.97fps, VBR-2 30 goal/50 max, render max depth, max depth quality).

I exported a video a few days ago, not as long -- 7-8 mins -- so it was only about 1.3GB, and it processed fine.

I'm baffled!  Could it be my computer, even though I've tried closing unneeded programs to free up RAM?

What is your hard drive setup (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?

Are they getting full?

I don’t remember the exact setup (it’s at home; I’m at work). But it’s an i7 processor with at least 16GB RAM, and the hard drive still has 170-200GB of space left (yes, I know that’s not a lot, but the laptop is about 4 years old and I’m going to clear up some more space).

Could that be the issue?

Clearly there's something going on at one point of the sequence that's causing an issue. There may be an odd effect, plugin, speed change, or keyframe causing the issue that you haven't caught yet. Or it's just a bug somewhere.

If you think you've successfully found the problematic clip/transition, try deleting that section and rebuilding it from scratch. Then try exporting that section and see if it freezes. If it still freezes, mark in and out points around it and try to Render and replace that section.

If that doesn't work either, then there might be something wrong with the media files used in that section. Try converting/transcoding the source files to another file type or codec.
