Question

Constant power transition when clips are on different tracks

Hi there!

There are places on my timeline where I need to apply the constant power audio transition to the audio clips placed on different tracks. Say, the dialogues clip#1 on track#1 and foley clip#2 on track#2. To apply the constant power transition, I usually cut a bit of the clip#2, then move it to track#1, and apply the transition. Pls, take a look at the screen I shared.

But then I sent all the stems to the audio guy and it caused problems to the audio editing like he should identify all those places and deal with them like leveling up etc. I don't want to bring the guy extra/unnecessary pain. I believe there are should be more intellegent way to apply the constant power transition to the clips which are on different tracks.

Thank you in advance for the reply!

Overlap and apply, like in picture below.
Select both audio clips and hit the Default shortcut: Ctrl (or cmd)+Shift+D This will apply the default audio transition to both ends of each selected clip (Make sure you select the Constant power as the default transition by right click --> set a default transition)

You can't apply a transition to clips on different tracks. but you could overlap the tracks and create the transition manually with keyframes.

If you're hiring an audio mixer, why are you adding audio transitions yourself? Make the person you hired to mix do it
