convolution kernel light emboss alters image outside of the keyframes

I set the keyframes for convolution kernel light emboss effect, however its made every part of the image brighter, even outside of the key frames. Ive deleted and restarted and checked over it, but still cant fix it. Help appreciated.

As you can see both were taken outside of the keyframes and yet the first picture shows it effected it.

Posting screenshot also means the effects control. Have no idea what I am looking at.

On a side note: this effect is rather complicated. Imo just Emboss.

But as this is a still, edit in Photoshop.
