Does Premiere have an option/ability to paste in formatting from text styles, specifically superscript characters? I'm currently adding footnotes to videos, many of which have superscript items (annotations, medication titles, etc), and when copying from the word docs, they paste as plain text, meaning that everything has to be amended manually? Any ways around this? I'd rather not have to paste in each block of text as an imported .AI file (the only logical solution I can see), as I'd like to have quick editability over the video rather than flitting back and forth between .AI on a blank page and hoping it fits.

What characters specifically are an issue?
I'm on MacOS (not using Word) and can succesfully copy/past from Text Exit and Sublime Text into Premiere. I've tried x³ and x² using Helvetica.
Can you give an example of a couple of characters that don't work and what font you are using?
Have you tried copy/pasting the characters from another app?

Oh, it's not the "naturally" superscript characters/glyphs that are the issue (they copy over fine), i mean specifically when text has formatting applied to it (like bold, italic, superscript), you know how when you copy from Word into InDesign/Illustrator and you can choose to retain the formatting when it's pasted? Premiere, as far as I can see, has no such option/setting.

If I copy/paste some text (which has superscript formatting) from Photoshop or Illustrator into Premiere, then it retains the formatting.
Are you able to succesfully copy the formatting into Illustrator...then copy paste again into Premier?
I appreciate it's not an ideal solution...but it's useful to know if it's a potential workaround.

You are a paragon of virtue and a genius -- thank you 🙂
(although I did have to go via InDesign -- for some reaons Illustrator doesn't like copying directly from word, but this will certainly do!)

I'd suggest you file this as a bug:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idi-p/13361863
Since the formatting is preserved when pasting into Illustrator and InDesign, then it's an inconsistent behaviour in Premiere - hence I'd suggest it's a bug rather than a feature request.
