Create subtitles for section of timeline

I have a timeline with created subtitles from transcript. I now need to add extra material to the timeline but would like to keep the existing subtitles as they have multiple corrections in them.

 

Can I create new subtitles for the added shots by creating ins and outs of something similar?

 

I'm trying to avoid having to recreate all the subtitles and then correct them all again.

Hi Andy,

You can create subtitles for a specific section of your timeline using static transcripts. Here's how:

  1. Set an in/out point in your timeline.
  2. Go to the Text panel > Transcripts, click the three dots in the top right corner, and choose Generate static transcript.
  3. Expand the Transcription Preferences and at the bottom, tick Transcribe in and out point only.
  4. Once the transcription is complete, click the Create Captions (CC) icon at the top of the panel - this will create captions for the selected time.

Important to note that a static transcript will not update afterward if you make changes to your timeline.


Otherwise, you can also just create new captions (these won't override your existing captions, Premiere create a new captions track) and copy/paste the captions you want to your original captions track.
