Community Beginner ,
Sep 17, 2024 Sep 17, 2024

I need help! What I want to do is take 50 images,have two show per second, and do a 25 second timelapse, and add a song. There are a lot of tutorials but I find them all very confusing.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks

Easiest way I think would be to set Preferences\Timeline and put the default still image to .50

You can drag those images into a project.

And then onto a timeline, and they will each be .5 secs long.

I don't know of one off-hand. Are you having a problem with it. .5 seconds too long? etc...

@MyerPj

I would use frames instead of a broken up second.

(0.5 x 29,97 = 14 something frames)

Good point for this one.

I keep it at seconds so I can switch from 24 to 29.97, 30 fps and still get the same amount of time.

hey @gregoryd1973 , there are some decent videos on YouTube, and some really helpful courses on LinkedIn Learning. I keep finding After Effects tutorials I do over there. If you have an account or don't mind getting one, it's really good.

Best to do a tutorial or two, instead of stumbling around. PP is a professional tool, and things are not always as obvious as maybe should be. So, the tutorials go right to it...

Hi Meyer. Thanks for your reply. If you know any specific tutorials that somewhat hit on what I want, if you could let me know the URL, I would appreciate it.

Gregory

Greg, you might want to say where you are at in the process. Did you get the stills in there, is it basically working, what issues are you having. Some screenshots would be good, make them of the full PP interface.

Great idea Myer, thanks for your clear thinking. Somehow, even though I am clueless, I got a 30 second video, and it freezes at the last frame, and I converted a Prince song, from youtube, and made it into am m4a file. Now, I want that song to play while the video goes, and then I want to save that as an Mp4 (I think....I don't know much about this) so I can post it on youtube with a link. Here is where I am at. I appreciate the help.

@gregoryd1973

From your screenshots, it looks like your music track is one minute long.

In your Sequence named "Prince_01", lock Audio Track 1.  Then, select all 50 of your still images and drag and drop them to Video Track 1 (don't worry about the current duration).  Press command a (Mac) or control a (Windows) to select all of the still images in Video Track 1 and then press command r (Mac) or control r (Windows) to open the Speed/Duration dialog box.   In the Speed/Duration dialog box, click the Duration text field and enter "1.06", enable "Ripple edit (shift trailing clips)" and then click OK.  You may need to shorten the last stil image by two frames at the tale of the Timline.  Press backslash to fit the length of your edit to the Sequence panel.  Play your edit, may any adjustments needed, and then switch to Export mode to export a H264 file.

Something to consider is that based on your screenshots your images are at a non-standard aspect ratio for video.  You may want to go change the Sequence settings to be a standard size (1920-by-1080, 1080-by-1080, 1080-by-1920, etc.).

Hi Warren,

Because i do not know anything about this software, I can not really follow your instructions. (I do not know what video track one is, for example.) I need someone by my side. Can you recommend a youtube tutorial to accomplish what it is I am trying to accomplish?

Thanks

Get yourself a subscription at LinkedIn Learning and learn the basics before venturing on any project.

It will save you a lot of activation and disappointment.
