Crossfades and other audio effects in all tracks of clip

Hi,

Something has changed in my configuration and I don't know what. Before, when I had a clip with various tracks - if I wanted to apply crossfades, for example, I could just apply them to all the tracks just by dragging the effect from the Effect Window to the clip in the timeline. But now it will only apply to an individual track. It's something that's changed in the last few days - I reckon I might have touched something by mistake, but I don't find what. At the moment I'm working with clips with 4 audio tracks and it's a pain to have to be doing each track individually for every crossfade.

I have the snap on and the clips are linked, if I clip on one the whole thing gets selected. So it's not any of those issues. It's not happening in just one project - that's what I think it might be something from my configuration.

Anyone knows what it might be and how to fix it? Haven't seen anything similar in the posts around.

Thanks!

Correct answer Kib

Select the clip/clips and press Ctrl-Shift-D (PC) or Shift-Cmd-D (Mac)to apply the Default Audio Transition

If you want transitions at a specific edit point (between two clips), select the edit point and then use shortcuts above

Hi Kib.

That works, thanks. Probably more useful also. But still I'd like to try to fix the issue when dragging the effect - since I've always done it like that and never had an issue before.

Understood, I only get one track dragging the Crossfade as well so cannot currently generate a scenario where all tracks are affected by the drag. Feverishing messing with track targets, edit points, sync locks, preferences, timeline settings to see if it was something you turned off.  In the meantime, you can edit with the mouse, you can make a living editing with the keyboard...
