Ctrl Z has stopped working

All of a sudden control z will no longer undo any new cuts or changes made. Neither of the keys are broken because I can still type z and ctrl s still works. It really seems like that might be the only shortcut that broke. What can I do to fix this? I can not keep editing videos till this is fixed.

This is going to sound weird, but restarting pc and resetting preference didnt work for me. I unplug my keyboard and pluged it back in, and the undo works..

      Try restarting the computer.

      If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
