Curve a video fully around

Community Beginner ,
Jul 31, 2024 Jul 31, 2024

I have a rectangular video (as do we all) in premiere pro, similar to a Mercator projection800px-Mercator_projection_Square

I want to be able to curve that video around, similar to a Azimuthal equidistant projection

Surprisingly I found nothing online
I guess I'm the only one crazy enough to try this 😂

Hi Zeke,

For curving a video fully around, Premiere Pro is not the ideal tool. I recommend playing around with the Spherize effect in After Effects.

This effect will allow you to manipulate the video in a way that creates a curved or spherical look.

Cheers,
Paul

I just looked and Spherize is in Premiere Pro as well, and all it does is distort the video to look like a sphere, similar to an Orthographic map projection

Anything else After Effects-y I could do?

Sorry, I meant to say "CC Sphere" in After Effects, not "Spherize."

That still does the same thing, unfortunantly. What I'm asking is probably less of a sphere and more of a circle, since no 3D space is taken up.
