Da Vinci Resolve Write On function

Hey there!

I'm wondering if there's any plugin or workaround to make text appear on Premiere Pro as the Write On function on Text+ in Da Vinci Resolve.

I'm working for several clients, creating reels like this:

Right now I'm making the word by word effect with opacity maks, which is not a very effective way.
If you want to add glow to the text is not possible, because it looks choppy and weird; the same with pop ups, you can, but for that I have to track the mask, which is not efficient in terms of workflow.

I know that probably working on After Effects is waaay easier, but couldn't find a way to import the text layers from Premiere with the proper styling (and the clients are very strict in terms of their stylings).

Any ideas?

Thank you for your time guys! 🙂

Film Impact has this Write-On text effect in its library: Typewriter Impacts

It isolates each letter from the background.

If you want to add a glow or drop shadow.

  1. Nest the Text + the Typewriter transition together as one clip.
  2. Then apply the Drop Shadow or Glow effect to the nested clip.

Hola Patricio,

Thanks for the note. I saw you want a write on effect. Right on! 🙂

Check the Obsolete folder for the native write on effect, which might work for you. It is an obsolete effect, so it may be removed at some point in the future.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey there!
I've been trying some stuff, and the the Crop Effect does what I'm searching for. Would be great if you can rotate it a little bit, specially when you a re using italics, but it works like a charm!
If you need to use double line text, just using a opacity mask, so you can only affect the line that you want.

Thank you all for your help.

Perhaps you should jusrt do them to begin with in Ae, which has far more text/graphics capabilities than Pr. Including a write-on effect built it. I'll be looking forward to other comments ...

Thanks for your answer!
I'm not sure about this, but I think AE has no IA Text Transcription function like Premiere Pr, and that's kind of vital part of the workflow, and one of the points why I stopped working on Da Vinci.
