DCI XYZ Conversion Adobe Premiere 2018 (12.0)

Hello,

First time poster. I'm trying to install a Lumetri LUTS that's a .cube into premiere and I'm getting an error saying "Unable to load selected file." The two LUTS I'm trying to use are preset color spaces that coverts Rec709 to DCI-XYZ.cube and sRGB to DCI-XYZ.

In Premiere 2017, I was able to install a DCI Converter preset (.prfpset) just fine with no issue. I cannot install this on Premiere 12.0 for the life of me and spent the last 2 weeks trying to find a workaround as I want to keep the latest version of premiere.

Any and all help and pointers are welcome. Thanks

rec. 709 at gamma 2.2 is same as sRGB.

are you editing in gamma 2.2? premiere is gamma 2.2 native. its wraptor DCP plugin is also 2.2 which does a type of XYZ conversion limited to 2k export only.

there's also easyDCP, finalDCP, dcp-o-matic, cutedcp.  I have also made a lut that converts rec. 709 2.2 to XYZ DCDM DCI white point gamma 2.6 D63 6300k same one used for calibrating cristie projectors.

A lot of DCP programs do the XYZ conversion but they use D65 or D60 white points which doesn't match

D63 or they have gamma conversion not 2.6. I think resolve is d65.

probably the simplest to use, although not the fastest is dcp-o-matic. and wraptor is not 100% compliant with all projectors. then you have to format the hard drive.

I'm not going to pretend that making a dcp is easy. Here's a good page.

You're use of the word "install" is troubling.

Adobe has recommended you not mess with the program files or folders in any way.  Always apply additional LUTs via the Browse button.

Report back.

Thank you for the advice. I actually have the JPG2000 plugin already, the DCI conversion LUTs was the missing link. I use Open DCP and have been for years. I've dabbled with DCP - o - Matic and it's a great program but for the DCPs I'm making, Premiere w/ media encoder along with Open DCP is the fastest way for me to encode everything in one go. I'm going to test the LUTs tomorrow and hopefully all goes swimmingly.
