deleted media on premiere pro

Hello, I need someone to help me. While editing a video, I wanted to break the link with a media without deleting it but unfortunately it did the opposite and deleted it from my computer. This video is quite important to me and I can't find it in the recycle garbage can either. Does anyone know how to get it back? Thanks

Correct answer Ann Bens

Deleting from your computer means it's really gone.

Guessing you did not make a backup of the footage?

FAQ: When to use "Save A Copy," or "Save As," and and when to simply use "Save"

AFAIK you can't get it back. You may try some data recovery software and see if it helps restore that file.

Auto-Save

Premiere Pro usually creates auto-save versions of your project. You can try to locate these auto-saved versions by going to "File" > "Open Project" and navigating to the "Auto-Save" folder within your project folder.
