Question

Disturbance between clips after exporting and viewing the video

In the editing program Premiere Pro I don´t see any disturbance but after exporting the video there is a short flickering in the image between each change of clip. This is so horrible, frustrating because I can´t find the problem in the editing.
Does somebody know what the problem could be and how to solve it? Thanks.

glad you didn't get offended.  The problem may be your iphone material.  Unfortunately, iphone (and most if not all smartphone videos) have a variable frame rate which premiere has problems with.  Adobe is working on a solution but in the meantime, use handbrake. https://handbrake.fr. to convert to a constant frame rate.  Make sure the quality is set to maximum.  Try convertin one file and replacing the original in the timeline and see if that fixes it.  If not, post back and we'll try and figure something else out...  and here's a definition of snarky found on the internet.

adjective
INFORMALNORTH AMERICAN
  1. (of a person, words, or a mood) sharply critical; cutting; snide.

hmm, let me concentrate and apply my psychic powers...  Sorry don't mean to be snarky (maybe a little) but you're not giving us the information we need.   What are your source settings (codec, pixel dimensions, frame rate and is the frame rate constant or variable?   and what are your sequence settings?  Have you tried exporting your sequence and does the problem persist in the exported sequence.

Hi,, hahahaha you snarky! By the way "snarky" is a new word to me 🙂

Okey, well it´s because I´m not a high Tech person at all, just an artist and have edited for a long time, but this time I put together two different "kind" of videos (settings). That can be it then.

If you have patience, please guide me through it.

One footage is from my iPhone and the second one is downloaded from YouTube to mpg4. I cut between these two. I also scaled them both to fit each other, could that be it?

And then I´m quite lost in settings and what you mention I should give you info about. Codec, pixel dimensions, frame rate and constant or variable frame rate... I don´t know. As I click on Sequence Settings I can see that they are both the same as I chose them to be 1080 and then scaled the frame. Where do I find the other info that you ask me about?

I don´t know if it helps (probably not) but I attach a screenshot of those settings.

I followed a guide on YouTube on how to export Square video best for Instagram and The Export Settings are as follow:

When I exported I did this:
Format: H.264
Preset: Custom

Basic Video Settings: I clicked on Match Source and Render at Maximum Depth

Bitrate Settings:
Bitrate Encoding VBR, 2 pass
Target Bitrate 8
Maximum Bitrate 8

Does this say something about it? When I Play the video in the editing there is no flickering between the clips. Just after exporting.

Thank you you snarky and also helping person 🙂
