Correct answer R Neil Haugen

On some rigs, Resolve edits easier. On others, Pr. What works is most important.

My 6-core/32GB-RAM/1060 Intel rig handles H.264 better in Pr than Resolve. Not by a lot, but some. And though I've worked a bit with Resolve I like editing in Pr better.

Some like R's interface better. I like Pr's.

Use whichever tools get the job done best for you.

I would note, I've discussed proxy/"optimized media" with a couple users who thought Pr should stop wasting time in proxies and use the original media just optimized like Resolve.

Um ... "optimized media" is Resolve-speak for proxies. They're the same thing. But again for some people the proxy process in Resolve is easier to use. Fine. I know how to work with Pr when I want proxies so it doesn't make a difference for me.

All back to ... use what gets your work out the door in a way your clients are happy and you're home with the family. Understand all tools have training and limitations that come with them.

Neil

Edit: occasionally Pr does better with the VFR phone media if you select all media in a bin, right-click and Modify/Assume X framerate using the stated framerates of the camera settings of the capture device. THEN drop it on a timeline. May or may not help your rig/media.

I'm sorry, but I don't shoot pics from a phone and don't know what specs that would be. What sort of source material it really is.

Nor do I know your project settings for Ppro or resolve, etc.

I have no clue how to answer your question. But, in general, whatever 'works' is what you should use.

Well, in that case what I would do is edit it in Davinci Resolve. Remember that the important thing is to do a good job, the tool you use is indifferent.
