Does Render In to Out lose quality?

Question

I have started to use the "Render In to Out" tool quite often in one of my projects because I am using clips with a lot of effects. However, I often have to render, edit the clip, render, edit the clip, etc, and I am worried that each time I "Render In to Out" I may be losing quality.

I know that a separate file is created and stored in the cache every time I use "Render In to Out," so it's different from rendering/exporting the final video, but I still worry that the amount of times I've been using "Render In to Out" has been making me lose quality each time...

I have searched the forums, but couldn't seem to find an answer. Would anyone happen to know?

Hey celtyb,

That's a good question. No, any time you render an effect once more, a new file is made so you don't need to worry about continually stamping on your quality. Your old video preview file is still on your scratch disk, though, so you are aware. Sometimes, I delete render files in to out before re-rendering a new file if want to clear out that file.
