Dual Monitor Issues - Losing Pr Functionality

Explorer ,
Sep 28, 2022 Sep 28, 2022

Running the latest version of Pr on a MacPro with dual monitors ... just as I have been for years without fail. No recent changes in hardware. For the last couple of weeks, it seems that keyboard shortcuts won't work in both monitors at the same time. When I switch to a single-monitor workflow as a test - all works fine. But when going back to two, the problems begin again. Very aggravating. Any thoughts on what could be the issue?

Hi there,

We're sorry about the poor experience. Is there any specific keyboard shortcut that is not working, or is it happening with all the shortcuts? Have you tried resetting app preferences to check if it's working properly?

Thanks,

Sumeet

Thanks for the reply. All shortcuts. I have found a fairly quick workaround that allows me to edit with dual monitors as needed [making one edit in single-monitor mode and then switing back to dual]. But could you please link me to simple instructions on resetting app prefs?

Same issue here has started over the last week or so.

All kinds of functionality seems to stop working. Can't move clips into bins, changes seem to reverse themselves, can't create color matte or black. Software restart seems to fix it for a couple hours, and then it returns. I've been on the same machine for 3 years and all was fine until the last week or so.

None of the issues happen when I go to single monitor.

Yeah. I figured out if I switched to single, performed one simple edit, and then back to dual ... then dual works for me all day. Still need to figure out a more permanant solution.

For clairty on the above workaround - I have to keep Pr open and not reboot. When I first mentioned the issue - I would reboot in hopes of it being resolved ... but it never worked. So you have to keep Pr open when switching from dual to single then back to dual. A bit confusing ... It does work on my end, though.
