Duplicating an edit throughout a timeline - NOT LOOP A VIDEO

Hi! Every year I edit dance recitals for the studio I taught at. It's about 12 hours of editing a few 100 dances. I synce the original music track to the multi-cam timeline. I usually click one of the cam audio tracks and the music track, right click and sycronize. But to repeat this same action 100's of times is exhausting. I don't want to purchase a thrid party plugin. I only do this once a year. In photoshop, there used to be a way to record and action and apply it to every open doc. Is there a way to record and action in the timeline and repeat it throughout? Or does anyone have a faster easier way to do this? lol!

You're not really understaning. I've already created my multi cam. Audio tracks A1 - A3 are the nats from the cameras. They are all syncing up during the creation of the multi-cam. NOW I have to sync the actual music tracks with each dance. There are hundreds of dances and hundreds of MUSIC TRACKS (original music). I want to sync all the music tracks to my mult-cam. Instead of dragging each music track in individually, clicking a camera audio track and music track, right clicking and hitting synchronize for EACH MUSIC TRACK. 

 

ps...my caps aren't "yelling" but emphasizing the differences in what I'm trying to explain.

I recommend using Premiere's Create Multi-camera Source Sequence window to sync your different cameras and music. This feature allows you to automatically sync your audio and music tracks once, and then bundle them into a single clip rather than dealing with individual clips on the timeline.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Select all your video clips and music in the Project panel.
  2. Choose Clip > Create Multi-camera Source Sequence.
  3. For Synchronization Point, select Audio Track Channel 1, 2, or Mixdown (Channel 1 is usually sufficient).
  4. For Audio Sequence Settings, choose All Cameras.
  5. Click OK.


If you need to manually adjust anything inside the Multi-camera Source Sequence, you can always right-click it and choose Open in Timeline to make the necessary changes.

Thanks for the info, but I've already multi-cammed all my cameras. I chose to leave the audio sources un- nested so I can choose the nat sound track I prefer. During Tap dances, I have a camera that has a mic on the stage so you can hear their tap sounds. So all my cameras and audio sources from the cameras are synced during the multi-cam creation. My problem is the MUSIC TRACKS that I import after creating the multi cam. The music tracks are all individual dance tracks. There's hundreds of dances and hundreds of music tracks. I want to sync the music tracks in my timeline in a faster way. Right now, after I finish my multicam and chop up each individual dance, I add the music track (look at A4). I want to sync alllllll of those music tracks quickly....

Thanks for the additional details! I understand the challenge you’re facing with syncing the music tracks after the multi-cam process. It sounds like you’ve put a lot of work into this project, and I can see why syncing all those individual music tracks is a bit overwhelming.

By not adding the music tracks during the initial multi-camera syncing process, it’s turned into a more manual task, which can be time-consuming. In the future, syncing both the audio sources and the music in a multi-camera source sequence (not on the timeline) at the start of the process would streamline everything and give you more control over your audio choices, including the ability to select the nat sound track you prefer.

I realize this advice might not be immediately helpful since it sounds like you’re already far along in your project, but it’s something to consider for next time.

Given where you are in the process, here’s what I recommend doing now:

  1. Lay out all your dances on your timeline, from beginning to end, and export this as a reference video.
  2. Then, import this exported file into your project, select it and all your music tracks in the Project panel.
  3. Choose Clip > Create Multi-camera Source Sequences. Sync using Audio and click OK.
  4. Right-click this new multi-camera source sequence in the Project panel and choose Open in Timeline.
  5. Select all your synced music tracks in the timeline, copy them, and paste them into the sequence you just exported.


This should help sync your music tracks more efficiently and get you back on track with your project.
