Editing Arri Alexa S35 MXF files

Hi guys,

We had a massive headache editing Arri Alexa MXF files in the latest Premiere Pro 2022 software. On every machine, Imac, and Macbook, whether it is on Monteray or Catalina OS, we had dropped frames, and choppy playback. Sometimes it would work after a fresh PP install and then just fail later on in the process. Our solution was converting all the footage to a ProRess MOV file with Editshare. You can choose 'passtrough' or a other Proress quality. I hope this will help some people out until Adobe fixes this problem.

Adobe and Fergus, who is tagged on his post, have been aware of this problem for many months now. The latest update to premier 2023 did not fix the bug. I don’t know what’s going on at Adobe but I need a program that works with MXF files.

I believe you're shooting on a C300, not in ARRIRAW on an ALEXA. MXF is just a container for many different types of formats. I will follow-up with you on your other post about the issues you're seeing with C300 MXF files.
