Editing files from DVDs.

I had old cassette video tapes converted to DVDs by iMemories. Now I want to edit them for sharing with extended family. I imported one of the DVDs but it is grayed out. How do I import this?

How did you import them?

Are they Video DVDs or Data DVDs?

What is the file structure on the DVD? Is there a Video TS file?

What file type were they converted to?

I eventually bought software that would do the converting for me. I just wasn't figuring it out. And I also didn't see this reply. Thank you!!!
