Editing old project created in Premiere Pro 2.0

I have Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017 on my laptop and want to edit an old project created in Premiere Pro 2.0 on my old desktop.

I've put all the media and the old project file on an external drive, and opened it up on the laptop in CC 2017. No problem locating the media. It's all there in the new project file. However, there is no timeline/sequence visible. I don't want to start the whole thing from scratch. Am I missing something?

I would try installing cs6 and see if that opens it, then save as a cs6 file and open that in cc2017

Premiere has changed significant since CS3.

I would go with Richard suggestion: first cs6.

    I don't have cs6. Is it costly?

You have if you have a subsciption.

Open triangle next to Open Premiere in CC app and hit previous versions.

Thanks, Kulpreet. I looked for bars and tone. No sign. I then tried importing original project to new Premiere Pro CC2017 project. That didn't work either, I'm afraid.

    Hi Gordonw27584785,

Open your project in Premiere Pro CC 2017 & open the project panel.

Do you see anything like this (see below):

    • If you do, double click on it to open your sequence.
    • If you don't, try importing your original project in a new Premiere Pro CC2017 project.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,

Is there a sequence icon in your project panel? Blue and green bars. If so double click on the icon for the sequence.

It worked! Many thanks! I'm pretty much self-taught on version 2.0, and have obviously been living in a time-warp. Your help and others' is much appreciated.
