EDL and Multicam-Sequence

Hey guys,

maybe someone can help me with this issue:

On our live-shows we use a Ross carbonite mixer. The Ross can record EDLs of what is happening during the show. We'd like to use these EDLs in our postproduction processes. Now, I can import the EDL an link all the clips separately but for a better workflow it would be great to have the EDL linked to a Multicam-Sequence with all the cameras in it. From what I found on the web I tried to link the Multicam-Sequence via drag&drop and holding down shift&alt. This links the clips but the camerangles do not change with the cuts. All Clips show the same camera. Is there a way to have this linked properly or am I missing something here? Thanks for your help.

EDL was developed way before NLE's existed, it was for tape workflows.  In fact. The EDL only supports one video track and 4 audio tracks, if I'm not mistaken. So unless your Ross mixers supports XML and nested squences, I don't think there is a way to genereate a nested multicam with and EDL. Sorry.
