Elgato Camlink not picked up in Premier Pro - pleas advise

Hi all,

I recently purchased an Elgato Cam Link 4K to use with my Sony A6400 camera for high-quality video capturing. My aim is to capture video directly into Adobe Premiere Pro on my macOS system.

The Cam Link and camera work perfectly when used with other applications like OBS and Zoom, but for some reason, I can't get them to work in Premiere Pro.

Adobe support tells me that this feature of capturing via USB/Firewire is discontinued in macOS versions newer than 10.14 (Mojave). However, since the Cam Link works with other applications, I'm not convinced the issue is solely with macOS.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really want to streamline my workflow for video production.

Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can offer!

Best,

Pete

Premiere will only capture over FireWire.

FireWire has been dropped from the mac quite some time ago.

On Windows it will no longer be available with the next version of Premiere being 2024.
