Encore CS6

Encore CS6 lately crashes constantly when I try to import assets. This is when I am trying to build a DVD. When I export the DVD files, that folder seems to "corrupt" no matter which drive I save them to; when I open the folder, it just closes. Any help is much appreciated.

Before I do this. There is more. When I create the MPEG-DVD files, it creates 2 additional files that seems to corrupt what ever is in that folder. I had to go to another PC on the network to delete all the files to clean up the folder. This is nuts! I was able to import an AVI file into Encore; is that okay?

A Microsoft update KB4013429 March 14, 2017 created issues with the mpeg2 handling libraries. I do not think this is your issue, but some users (in the Encore forum) reported odd and inconsistent behaviors. So it is possible it has added to your woes. I did not see the problem till I tested it in response to reported problems. On one PC, every access of an mpeg file in Windows Explorer resulted in a "silent" crash (explorer just closed without opening the file) and same for Encore trying to import a file. On another PC with the same updates installed, I had no problems.

Some users struggled with removing updates, but this was fixed by a March 20 update, KB4015438.

When you ask a question you need to provide some basic information

-Forum quick start https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-5601

Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?

Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems

Are you using a computer Administrator account with full read/write permission?

What is the exact error message that you see?

I am using a PC. Win 10 Pro. Encore CS6. It only does this on MPEG-DVD files. I am able to import AVI assets. I usually create a separate folder for the two files. When I look into the folder upon import, it has created 2 other files as well. Encore crashes right after. If I open the folder in Windows explorer, outside of Encore, the screen goes black for a second and then closes the folder. Very odd. Never did that before.
