Encore not working with Premiere Pro CC

I downloaded CS6 through my Adobe Creative Cloud Account, in order to access Encore. I am trying to burn my Premier Pro CC project to DVD on my Windows 10 PC. I cannot find Encore, and when I try to open my project file in CS6, it says the file is corrupted and cannot be opened. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Encore and PPro CC do NOT work together

Export from PPro using an appropriate format, such as MPEG2-DVD for Standard Definition

Open Encore and import the video and audio files and do your authoring

What is the specific error?

File can not open: Blu-ray Error: "device not ready", Code: "3", Note "File can not open ([path/name]m4v._.ves)

Or Fail to write M2S file: "device error", Code: "3", Note "CreateStcSequence:Fail to write M2S file""

What operating system? PC or Mac?

Hi Julia,

You said -

(here's where it falls apart)

*select .m2v and .wav files created by Adobe Premiere CC

Why do things go bad at that point - have you tried it? When you export MPEG-2 DVD from Premiere/Media Encoder, the audio and video clips are exported as separate clips - just the way Encore likes it. Encore will transcode the .wav audio to Dolby Digital, and the .m2v video will be used as-is.

Just make sure when exporting the MPEG-2 DVD file that the results will fit on the DVD. This is determined by the bit rate used for the export. Bit rate will vary depending on length of program being encoded. Longer programs may require a lower bit rate to fit the DVD.

Rule of thumb: 560/minutes = bit rate (don't exceed 8.0 for shorter videos, like 60 minutes or less)

Or use a bit rate calculator such as DVD-HQ : Bitrate & GOP calculator

The calculators scare me a bit with beginners though, since one wrong entry in the many boxes messes up the entire formula.

Thanks

Jeff

Thanks so much, Jeff.

I have finally worked through CS6 Encore after watching a YouTube video on burning to DVD. I have only been able to burn a 'Flash' version. Clearly I'm not getting this. I've e-mailed it to myself, and the quality leaves much to be desired. I'm going back in to try to change the format. I've been told that DVD is a dead messenger these days. What are our options for sharing videos with those who don't have computers and iCloud, DropBox, OneDrive access (like my 84-year-old dad. This video was his birthday present).

Thanks for your help.

Julia

Thanks Jeff. My name is Julia Jean Jackson-Fowler. I followed the link, successfully downloaded Encore CS6. At the end of the instructions, under 'Workflow using Encore CS6 and Adobe Premiere ProCC,' it reads: "Encore CS6 is not designed to work with Adobe Premiere Pro CC using dynamic Link". The new workflow link was a dead end.

I found another article which directed me to:

*in Premiere Pro CC, with timeline as active pane, go to File>Export>Media

*select "MPEG2-DVD

*check Export Video and Export Audio

*give it a file name and save location

*click export

*quit Adobe Premiere CC

*launch Encore CS6

*select New Project

*enter a name and save location for the project file.

*Authoring Mode: DVD; Television Standard: NTSC

*click OK to creat new project

------

*go to File>Import As>Timeline

(here's where it falls apart)

*select .m2v and .wav files created by Adobe Premiere CC

I cannot bring up this option. I went ahead and imported the timeline with the default settings and it appeared to import, but the correctly named project contained no timeline. No anything.

Sorry for the lengthy description, but I wanted to make sure you saw my journey to this point.

Any suggestions? I apprectiate it.

Julia

Julia I am sorry I may have misunderstood. Is Encore CS6 already successfully installed and able to open your Windows 10 computer?
