    when I go to redeem the dropbox discount, I can't as I aready have a dropbox plus account.  More than happy to cancel it if necessary to apply the discount, but want to make sure this is the correct way to proceed.  If the discount doesn't apply to a pre-existing account would be nice if it said that somewhere.

      @Michael Grenadier correct  - the discount is available to all new and Basic (free) Dropbox users. You can redeem the offer by downgrading to Basic then upgrading.

      will report back if I'm successful "downgrading" rather than cancelling...  


      well. no luck so far.  downloaded all crucial material off dropbox plus and cancelled...  Seems like I need to wait til the plan expires (on Friday)...  They don't make it easy...  We'll see if I can get the discount then and will post back.
