Export file name in new Export panel

So, the way I've been exporting revisions of videos (for decades), is to click on the file name (in blue), which takes me to an existing video that I want to overwrite, or perhaps ammend with a V2, V3, etc. Typically, these file names are very different than my sequence. In the new export panel, there's a field to enter a file name, but it's not hyperlinked to the file explorer. This means I have to type everything in, rather than clicking on existing file name and either replacing or ammending the name that's selectable in Windows Explorer. To be clear, in the Quick Export window, I can still do this, and Premiere's behaviour is exactly the same as it is in older versions of Premiere and the current version of Media Encoder and After Efffects.

Is this something that can be modified in preferences (make the file name field linkable)?

It seems dozens of people already have, and this was an active decision made by Adobe devs. I'm am beyond stunned that engineers allowed this broken UI to exist in professional software. The entire Export "window" feels like it's been together by someone who thinks everyone uses an iPad, and not multiple 4K monitors. I posted the attachment on User Voice, but I doubt it will ever get commented on.

Yes, this is not a bug as far as I can tell, but a poor decision made by the team. Hopefully it's fixed sooner than later

This issue has been fixed and you can test it in public beta right now.  We have implimented a "Save As" dialog instead of just a simple location picker which we had before.  This allows you to set the name in the same step as choosing the location including the ability to click on a previous file to copy the name.  We ususally don't promise when a fix will be released, but I can say that we intend to get this into the very next patch release since this is causing such a headache for so many people. Many appologies for the inconvenience.
