I´m working w a composer on a 360 video art piece. We want to screen it with live speakers, 15 of them. I need a 360 video that can contain 15 channels or 7.1? Any ideas if it is usable? I can´t export apple pro res since the 360 video player will not play it. It has to be h264 or h265 but then max ammount of channels seems to be 4 or 5.1

Any help appriciated 🙂

Thx

I think you can export a 16ch MXF or MOV and convert to 16ch H264 or H265 with shutter encoder.

Beware there's a minor bug in 16ch Adaptive tracks (you're only going to come across it if you want to do some muting in track mixer - A16 has to be muted for any other channel muting to work).

Thx @Trevor_Asq !  Where can I find out more? Do you remember the source?

https://www.shutterencoder.com/en/
use the h.264 or h.265 function and go to 'Audio settings' and set it to 'Multi' and assign the channels.

Looks like it might only go to 8 channels though - pretty sure that is a UI limitation. You should be able to get to 16channels with FFMPEG (which is what is underneath).

Otherwise Resolve will export a 24channel H264 or H265 MP4 (maybe more but their adaptive tracks stop at 24)
