Export tells me "MEdia Offline" but it's visable in Premiere

Exporting a timeline reports that some media is offline, yet it is visable, playable and renderable within Premiere.

This happens in the export tab and in Media Encoder.

I have deleted the cache files.  Once deleted I created new cache folders on a different drive.

I have deleted everything inside "C:/windows/users/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Common"

I have created a brand new project and imported everything from the project that doesn't work.
I have moved all the media files to a different folder on a different drive and relinked all the media.  Once again it's all there in Premiere but it won't export.
I still cannot export my sequence!

Moving the project to After Effects is not an option, as there are still some Premiere timeline effects that do not transfer - Frame Hold being one of them.

How can my business rely on Adobe software these days?  Every single piece of Adobe software has its bugs and foibles and they're getting worse than ever.  CS3 in the 90s was more stable and faster.

Add Media Offline in the MetaData Display and sort on this column to find the clips.

You should be able to export even with offline media.

Which version and build of Pr and Me are you using?
Can you tell us exactly what you see at the point of Export? Is it an actual Export error message or that red offline media banner for your media inthe Export preview? A screenshot might help.

Can you select one of the supposedly offline clips in the Project panel and then export that directly? As opposed to exporting the Sequence from within the Timeline.

Let me just reiterrate, for the replies that didn't read my post correctly - There are ZERO offline clips insode Premiere.  NONE.  Only export thinks some are offline.

What happens:

SHIFT + 3 (Selects the timeline)
File > Export  > Send To Media Encoder
Media Offline 0001.jpgClick OK
Media Encoder Opens in Background
Switch to Media Encoder
Media Offline 0002.jpgPress the green arrow to export
Exported video has "MEDIA OFFLINE" plastered over random shots.  Once again, those shots ARE THERE inside Premiere.

This project is now finished.  Deadlines, man, deadlines.

To fix the mess Adobe made I simply downloaded the free Da Vinci Resolve from Blackmagic.  Using Premiere I could see exactly what the covered shots were and, using Da Vinci Resolve, I could edit them over the "Media Offline" banner.  The shots are still there in Premiere, so I could see the file path and the timecodes used.

What versions am I using?  You tell me.  It updates itself far too often for me to even care about anymore.  It'll be the latest, running on Windows 11.

I was up late night fixing the export, so I'm extremely grumpy today.  If anyone knows a good alternative to After Effects I'll then have a full set of alternative software and can leave Adobe alone.  I'm really fed up.

I can understand the frustration here. I also understood that the clips were not appearing offline in Edit mode. The questions I asked were to try to begin the troubleshooting process with you. But it sounds like you have found an alternative workflow that works for you and have moved on. I hope things go well. Feel free to come back to this thread and let me know if you want to try to troubleshoot the problem in Pr. You can also send me a direct message about that if it's easier for you.

I am having the exact same issue as UK TV proffessional above. I have cleared the cache manually, updated prem and ME. I have tried offlining everything in the bin and then re-linking everything. I have tried renaming the source files and then re-linking those. However everytime i go to render i get the warning message that multiple clips are offline in the sequence and have an export pepperred with offline banners. I have tried rendering the affected individual clips in the sequence on their own and they still render as offline even though I can hit reveal in project, reveal in finder and everything is there and hooked up. I have an angry client on my case as i am now over due the delivery and i've spent a day just trying to render an already finished sequence. Everything was working fine until it wasn't . . .

Any help out there gratefully received!

Make new project and import old one. See how that goes.

Thanks for such a quick response Ann, really appreciated. I have tried that already though having seen that as a potential solution somewhere. However, in the last 5 minutes I think I may have fixed it. I changed the name of the folder holding all the source media, which obviously off lines everything in the project, then copied the folder to a different drive and relinked to that. It seems to have done the trick so I can now finally get some sleep! Wierd issue though, not really sure what suddenly causes an issue like that on random clips in the sequence. Thanks again!
