Export to mp4 with large (resized) watermark

Hi!

I'm trying to put a watermark on a 7 minutes movie and then export it to .mp4.

The watermark is a 800x800 px png file that is imported into the project.

I have a laptop that is not suited for video editing... and the exporting process takes about 30 minutes.

QUESTION: Should i resize the png file BEFORE importing it to the project, in order for me to wait way less than those 30 minutes?

Thanks!

Don't think resizing the PNG would make much of a difference ... but it's an easy thing to do and you'll know straight away if it reduces exporting time.

Indeed, no difference at all. But wanted to understand how the software works.

If you want to speed up your encodes switch to constant bitrate encoding (CBR) rather that variable bitrate encoding (VBR). (if you have not already)

Look for the 'bitrate settings' under 'Video in the export window. The downside of this is you will get a larger file size at the same average bitrate of VBR.
