Exported file is corrupted

I have imported a few clips from my Iphone 12, made a video which looks great in Premiere Pro. When I export the file - on playback the video is completely corrupted - flickering, green screen, stripes. Tried again and got the same thing - this time with a red screen with Chinese (?) writing.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong? Mac OS  Big Sur 11.7.8 - Creative Cloud up to date. I have made several videos before without an issue and am not doing anything differently. Would really appreciate some help - thank you! I've attached a short clip of current situation.

Thanks for your reply. I am a new user to PP so just have been using default settings (H.264). I didn't know the file had to be rendered. I see that there is a now a Send to Media Encoder option next to the Export button (bottom right of screen). I haven't had to use this before - previous files have turned out fine but now, not so much. So I need to use ME to render the file first? Sorry - total newbie here.... thannks so much

what .mov settings are you exporting to?

check Media Encoder Renderer (Software Only or GPU?)
