Exporting a video with black frame, and black bars

Problem, when i export my video, normal settings, my firast clip has a black frame around it after the export, and all the other clips have black bars on the side. I have tried adjusting aspect ratio, bit rate, resolution, nothing works. There are some issues that may be related - the clips themselves are 1080p, in my file folder they are, and in premeire they are, but when i go to the export menu, it say under source, that they are 720 by 480? i dont understand why, and i try to export in 1080 and it still doesnt export in the corect size. i have checked all other settings, any help?

Source footage, Sequence settings and export settings must match for best exports, iow without black bars, etc.

Select the timeline and go to Sequence > Sequence Settings and set the Editing Mode to Custom. Then, make sure that the Timebase, Frame Size, Frame Height, Pixel Aspect Ratio and Fields matches your source footage and click ok.

Try to export now to 1080.

sorry, it seems to think that now it should display at full res, so 1080 would be the whole size of my monitor, so the preview would have to be the size of my monitor, which it is when i try exporting it in that sequence size, it shows most of the frame is the black bars (which isnt possible and not usable) so seems like there is some other issue i cant see

O.k,

Right click on one of the source clip that stretches in the Project panel and choose Properties and take a screen dump of the windows that pop-up and post it here.
Select the sequence you are exporting from and go to Sequence > Sequence Settings and take a screen dump of it and post it here.
Go to File > Export > Media and take a screen dump of the top of the Export Settings dialog. The really interseting thing is the Summary, such as on this screen dump:

Use the Insert Photos button to insert the screen dumps:

You'll likely want to confirm that your sequence settings match your source media and that your export settings match your sequences settings.

Original media (1920x1080) > In a 1920x1080 Sequence > Exported at 1920x1080.

If you do have varying frame sizes and aspect ratios, you'll need to adjust the scale of some clips to fit the target resolution. Bitrate won't have anything to do with these things.
