Question

Exporting not utilising GPU on AMD 290

Hello all,

I have a AMD 290 graphics card and the newest version of Premiere Pro (2017) I have tried seeing the difference between switching from software to OpenCL to see if it made any difference in time for rendering, but it did not. In either setting, the GPU is at 0% and is being loaded fully on the CPU. This happens in both Prem Pro and Adobe Media Encoder.

My setup includes:

Windows 7 64bit

CPU: I5-2500k OC 4.2GZ

8GB RAM

AMD 290 Graphics.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Is it possible to take advantage of my GPU to decrease output time? My videos used a mix of effects to try and utilise some of this GPU power. My drivers are also up to date.

I have solved this problem. Just get in the Bios and disable the Intel Graphics Card.

As Ann has shown you, you probably are not using any GPU accelerated effects or features,  I have a R9-280X that does a mediocre job of GPU Acceleration.  nVidia CUDA cards do much better.
