Youtube prefers progressive media so you're better off de-interlacing before you upload. If your footage is 29.97 interlaced (technically 59.94i) you could export at 59.94p in order to preserve the interlaced 'look'. Or export at 29.97p in order to blend the fields together for a more conventional de-interlace (and potentially smaller file size).

Thanks for the reply I'm in the UK which is PAL 25fps so would you upload 1440 footage as 1920 x 1080p and is it best to deinterlace in prem on the timeline or leave it to YouTube?

Ah, UK here too (I usually assume film and/or NTSC rates on forum posts here).

Easiest thing to do is put it on a 1920x1080 25p timeline, premiere will automatically de-interlace it.

Or put it on a 1920x1080 50p timeline if you want to preserve the 'interlaced look' on Youtube. In both cases, export same as source ie. settings which match your sequence.

Thanks I was wondering if it's best to leave as 1440 x 1080i  or upload as 1920x 1080p for best results. Thanks for your reply

I would start by going to you tube to find out what is required... then find an export option in premiere pro
