Hi,
I must be doing something wrong because the 30 minute video I've prepared, comprised solely of still images, Illustrator .ai files, and two audio tracks, is taking forever to export. I don't know if it's my computer or the settings, but it's hard for me to believe that it would require hours.
I've attached an image that shows the export settings. If I select CBR for Bitrate Setting it appears to export faster, but even there, it shows over 3 hours of wait time, which seems like a lot.
I'm very new to this so I'm not sure where to look. Perhaps my Sequence Settings are not correct. I've attached a copy of that as well. The prproj. file only weighs 383 KB.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Mark

Uncheck Maximum Render Quality.
You don't need it.
This option helps preserve details and avoid aliasing when scaling to a frame size different from your source media. For example, exporting from a high-resolution 4-K sequence to a lower resolution HD or SD format. Enabling this option can improve quality but keep the following in mind:

Depending upon the transitions and effects used, as well as your computer specs and hard drive setup, that may be normal.

Hi Peru Bob,
Thanks for your help. I made the adjustment but the results are the same. I'm quite sure my computer is lacking sufficient memory and disc speed, but it seems really odd that the .mp4 file Premiere Pro is outputting weighs 1.61 GB. I don't see why it weighs so much when all the files weigh 600 MB collectively. Yes, the are a few transitions, but not that many. I can't see them being responsible for adding 1 GB.
I appologize if I'm focused on the wrong things or speaking incorrectly, but I'm relatively new to this. I even tried selecting CBR (value 10) for bitrate encoding but it didn't work. I'm running out of application memory no matter what I do.
Thanks for any other suggestions you might have. I've worked so hard on this video, it would a shame if I couldn't publish it.
Kind regards,
Mark

Premiere Pro can show 3 hours of render time but a minute into the render it could drop down to 8 minutes. With two pass encoding you cannot use Nvenc or Quick Sync for hardware accelerated encoding.

Hi Andy,
Thanks. The problem is that it's taking a very long time and producing a huge .mp4 file (1.61 GB). The computer keeps running out of application memory before it completes the process.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Andy,
I found a way to get it done. I set the VBR setting to 1 pass, the target bitrate to 2, and the maximum bitrate to 5. It just squeaked through. I'm quite sure the problem is a lack of disc space and memory, and adequate processing power; it's an old Mac-Mini. I don't think the problem relates to the video or export settings.
Thanks for your help. It's time to upgrade to a new version with the M1 chip. I'm sure that would solve most, if not all, of my problems.
Kind regards,
Mark

gotta say that I've had memory issues recently working on a m1 macbookpro with the maximum ram available (16 gigs). I got a memory error, but the task does complete... just don't assume the problem will go away with an m1 machine.... You might try the smart rendering workflow

Thanks for the link, I'll take a good look at it.
