Exporting with HEVC (H.265) color problem on instagram

Hey! I've been trying to export a video clip with HEVC (H.265) and once I posted the video on instagram, it added a weird, ugly color or filter to the video! I don't know if this is a problem with instagram, because when I tried exporting the exact same clip with H.264 the problem was gone. Anybody know what could be causing the issue? I have posted videos with H.265 before and i didn't have this problem until this week..

Thanks!!

Hi LauraaaS,

1. What is the exact dot version of Premiere Pro?

Steps: FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

2. If possible, share a screenshot of both the files(H.264 & H.265) Steps: FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?

3. Is this happening with one particular project? Please check using a project which worked previously.

4. Have you updated Premiere Pro recently?

Thanks,

Vidya

Hey! I'm using Version 12.1.1 (Build 10) which should be the newest version.

Here's what the video (Exported with H.265) looks like on my feed before clicking the video;

Dropbox - IMG_20180430_115345_924.jpg

And here's what it actually looks like once you click on the video to watch it;

You can clearly see that there's a weird color added.. the H.264 version doesn't do this.

The video looks fine before uploading to instagram.

Here's screenshots of the H.265 export;

As you can see, I'm working on a different project on those screenshots but I'm still facing the same problem with the color.

Hi LauraaaS,

Thanks for the info. Please try exporting a file after changing the renderer in File > Project Settings > General > Renderer & check the issue.

Have you tried exporting using Media Encoder? Please check.

Thanks,

Vidya
