Question

Extra V appears every time keyboard Ctrl+V used

I'm using the latest 2018 version.

I'm subtitling and adding subtitles by copying and pasting from a Word document.

Every time I paste using Ctrl+V, an extra V appears at the end of the sentence, and then I have to delete it manually.

How do I get rid of this problem?

I have never seen this problem and tried to reproduce it even with the Text tool active. We need more info, OS and exact Premiere Pro version and what kind of caption you uses and what version of Word you use. Describe what you do, step by step, so we can try to reproduce it.

If your T tool, the Text tool, is active, it assumes that V is meant to be typed into the graphic.

Select the Arrow (selection) tool on the Timeline instead. Then do your copy/paste.

    Try a different keyboard.

Using Ctrl + V on other applications, such as Microsoft Word, is no problem. So, it is not the keyboard problem.

To test for Word issues, paste the Word text into notepad or similar, then copy from there. Does that fix it? Word can bring in odd characters. But I don't recall this problem before.
