in this case its a mp4 downloaded from youtube   the error message tells me that it cannot import AV01 file

so, all i get is the audio, but not the video

 

i understand youtube is not the ideal source for any video footage, but in this instance its necessary

It may be an issue with a codec used for the video.

What if you try to import this video into Media Encoder and convert it to MP4 using a standard H.264 codec and then import it into Premiere?

That is correct, Premiere does not support AV01.

Load the file up in Handbrake or Shutter encoder and convert.

 

No point in loading it up in AME as if its not supported by Premiere nor will AME.
