After a while when editing the timeline audio waveforms started and video thumbnails started to desapire and flickering. I updated drivers for graphics card on pc and it did not solve this. I have also a mac and there is the same glitch. I also selected lut in lumetry color on PC but when I open the same project on Mac then I get different lut applyed. For examle i select Fuji ETERNA 250D Kodak LUT on Pc and on Mac the LUT is SL BLUE ICE.

I have this same problem. its a nightmare. also it can develop to not being able to interact with the interface outside of the timeline. i can click things, but it doesnt show that i have unless i click 'File' at the top and then it shows what ive previously clicked on. its like a graphical interface problem. Would love to find a fix

Salu2

I think 64Gb of RAM is enough for 1080p Canon 6D H264 files for simple edit. I also see that Premiere starts to freezing after desapearing waveforms and flickering.

I dont know why I pay subscrition to Adobe. I should start using another software instead like final cut pro or davinci resolve. With every update or change made by Adobe this sotware will always be bugy because it is build on bugy base from the first version. I am using Premiere since its first release and i know there is not a single one version of premiere that is without errors.

Try pressing Shift at launch and delete all the media cache using the Reset Options dialog box. That fixes a lot of issues like this. Let us know.

Thanks,

Kevin

  1. Do you have any Blackmagic hardware/drivers installed? If so, make sure they are up to date.
  2. When the flickering occurs, if you ALT+TAB (CMD+TAB on Mac) out to another app, then back to Premiere, does the flickering continue? Or does it stop (at least temporarily?)

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-clear-your-media-cache-in-30-seconds-in-premiere-pro-2020/m-p/11017257/thread-id/260446?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Did all of that and after some time the same glitch is happening again on PC and on Mac.

Hi there!

Sorry about the trouble. Which version of Premiere Pro are you using? Are you getting this issue on a particular project? Do you have nested clips?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika

The most recent one 22.4 on PC and also on Mac. I use nested sequences but this happens also on project without nested sequences. I think it has some glitches on new workspaces. Older versions like 2021 series have not this problems.

I've been struggling with the same problem for years. Finally, I found a working solution: Turn off the scrolling timeline. It seems to be the cause of the problem, at least for me.
