Fonts not showing up in Premiere CC2018

Fonts that I have installed and activated using Font Explore X Pro 6 are not showing up in the latest update to Premiere CC2018 (12.1.0) .  All the fonts show up in all of my other Adobe products - which by the way i haven't updated to the latest CC2018 - but they don't show up in Premiere.

The 12.1.2 update that was released July 16 seems to have fixed this issue for me.

    Hi All,

As mentioned by Redprod, 12.1.2 update fixed the issue. Please check this article: Bug fixes in Premiere Pro version 12.1.2

You can download the update using Creative Cloud app. Here are the steps: Update apps to the latest release of Adobe Creative Cloud

    Thanks,

    Vidya

Same problem, none of my locally installed fonts showed up. This is astonishing that the original post is from April and this has still not been resolved. We're talking BASIC functionality here, Adobe: let me use the fonts that I have installed on my computer.

I have resolved this issue for my current project - it required these steps:

Menu Bar > Creative Cloud menu > Preferences (three dots on upper right) > Creative Cloud > Fonts > UNCLICK Typekit Sync

Instantly, my local fonts appeared back in my project without relaunching app or reopening project. This means the app was aware they were installed, they were just being hidden in Premiere.

I guess the question for Adobe is, why would you hide local fonts if someone wanted to use their Typekit fonts too? Bad implementation like this makes me want to avoid Typekit and all other cloud services.

That worked for me. Typekit is a pain!

Same problem, affects several projects I am working on - thought waiting on the first update was good enough to wait to updating, guess not...

Same thing here. A ton of fonts are not showing up. They show up fine in all other programs.

Scratch that, both the latest 2018 versions of After Effects and Premiere have this issue. Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Muse and all of my other Adobe programs show my font list correctly. I went back and installed the older 2017 versions of Premiere and After Effects and those programs do not have any problems. The issue is within the latest 2018 version of Premiere and After Effects.

    Sotipop,

Are these older PostScript Type 1 fonts? Do let us know. It would help if you'd add your voice to the following bug: Support all fonts instead of making an update that causes some of your fonts to go missing! – Adobe video & audio apps

Workarounds in the meantime for this would be to convert the font or obtain an OpenType or TrueType version of it.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Likewise certain fonts have become unusable. They don't even appear in the dropdown menu. All fonts work fine in Photoshop.

I have the same problem. None of my installed fonts show up in premiere since updating to 12.1. Kinda need this to work. Clients have custom fonts.

OKay.... so even though fonts were working, now when i play video in 12.0.0  the video playback is all glitchy.   tried a few things including clearing the media cache but nothing worked.  reinstalled 12.0.1 and the video playback is fine... but now the many of my fonts are not showing up again.  So problem is not solved.

This Adobe CC2018 update has been the most terrible upgrade ever.

It is definitiely a problem with the new version of Premiere.  I just re-installed the previous version (12.0.0) and my fonts work fine now.  Unfortunately there are some projects that I've worked in in the latest version that I can't open in the previous version.
