Hello everyone,

I'm facing an annoying issue in Adobe Premiere Pro where the preview window isn't displaying smoothly. Every few seconds, it seems like the preview skips a few frames and then jumps forward to catch up, while the timeline playback remains normal. It's happening for every single clip and in every single project. For a better understanding, there is a video showcasing my problem - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDzTFigHd1E

It's real hard figuring out what could be the problem when you don't say anything about your hardware or media.

<<set guessing on>>

It "skips a few frames and then jumps forward to catch up", that sounds exactly like what is happening. If your hardware is decent, then it's likely the video file. Are they saved from OBS? Try an experiment, convert one of them to say ProRes proxy and give that a play and see how it goes.<<set guessing off>>

You are probably using Variable frame rate files, which are what typically cause the problem. Use Shutter Encoder to convert the files (before editing) to constant frame rate. Maybe try ProRes LT or even ProRes PROXY format within Shutter Encoder for easy to edit formats with 'better' files size.
