I had an existing account prior to Adobe acquisition. Now that fio is included I want to start using it but frame io is asking me to upgrade my plan for $$. How do I get farme io to recognize that I have an Adobe Creative Suite subscription?
If you use the same email address for both Creative Cloud and Frame.io, you’ll be signed in to your existing Frame.io account. To use the expanded Creative Cloud offer, change the email address associated with your Frame.io account in your account settings. Note that your existing assets and projects will not be available in this new account and you’ll need to migrate your assets manually and re-establish sharing and collaborations.
If you created your Frame.io account using the same email address you use for Creative Cloud, Frame.io will use your existing Frame.io account when you try to login. If you want the Creative Cloud offer, you need to go into your existing Frame.io account and change your associated email to something else.
The Creative Cloud associated account will be a brand new account, so you'll need to upload any media and create any projects you want from scratch. To help guide your decision making process

So we need to have different emails between PrPro and Frame.io to have Frame.io recognize we have a CC account?
I'd like a bit more clarity, please...

I did this exact thing, and now I get an Error in the Frame.io panel in Premiere every single time.
Error
Something went wrong while loading the data. Please reload the extension and try again.
I'm guessing it's because I had my old account linked to my computer, and changing the email address associated with it caused the error. However, I can't do anything now. Restarted Premiere, restarted my computer, deleted the preferences...I've done everything short of uninstalling Premiere and reinstalling it. The Error persists.

Unless you have a Free plan on Frame.io, the Creative Cloud offer will not expand upon what you currently have.

I indeed have the frame.io free plan. So if I delete it, will be able to get the Creative Cloud offer using my existing email on file with Adobe?

Rather than deleting, I suggest you go to your account settings in Frame.io and change the email associated with your account.

If anyone finds this is the future. Your almost going to have to be forced to upgrade if you work with any dumb clients or really any clients you don't trust. You can't disable download with your adobe account (greyed out told to upgrade). So dumb cleints will download you video and post it to their facebook page thinking its the final edit. or they will download it and not pay you too. You are forced to upgrade plan to disable download. Just heads up. Could always get around it by exporting video with water mark you add in video editing software.
