If there are clips in another track (audio or video) where you are trying to delete the gap, it won't automatically delete.

Please post a screenshot of your timeline.

Slide the music clip in Audio Track 1 to the tail of your edit, finish assembling your picture (closing gaps included), and then slide the music clip back.

Hello,

If your shortcut for deleting gaps in your timeline has stopped working, it's possible that the shortcut was reset to default settings. To reassign a shortcut for this action in Adobe Premiere Pro, follow these steps:

  • Access Keyboard Shortcuts: Go to the "Edit" menu in Adobe Premiere Pro and select "Keyboard Shortcuts."
  • Find the Action: In the Keyboard Shortcuts window, locate the action for deleting gaps in the timeline. In this case, it's likely called "Close Gap."
  • Assign a Shortcut: Click on the field next to "Shortcut" for the "Close Gap" action. Then, input your desired keystrokes for the shortcut. For example, if you want to use "Control + Alt + G," simply press those keys on your keyboard.
  • Apply Changes: Once you've entered the shortcut, click "OK" to apply the changes.

After assigning the shortcut, you should be able to use it to delete gaps in your timeline efficiently. Simply press the designated keystrokes (in this case, Control + Alt + G) while in your timeline to close all gaps.
